After 8 weeks, there is little change from our last Rookie QB Power Rankings. Only Russell Wilson moves up, replacing Ryan Tannehill for the 3rd spot. Check back in another 3 weeks for our next instalment.

RGIII came back from a Week 5
concussion sustained against Atlanta and put up back-to-back great
games. In a Week 6 victory over the Vikings, Griffin produced 320
total yards and 3 TDs (2 rush), including a dazzling 76-yard TD run.
In the first division game of his career, RGIII did everything he
could to upset the defending champs, throwing for 258 yards and 2
TDs, while adding 89 yards on 9 carries. Griffin had his team in
position for a big road win, until Eli Manning showed why he might be the best 4th quarter QB in the league. Dropped passes and bad defense played a big part in the Steelers Week 8 rout of the 'Skins and despite the poor outing, RGIII has still been the most effective rookie QB this season.

Since the initial power rankings 3 weeks ago, Andrew Luck has thrown just 1 TD pass compared to 3 INTs. While his stats seem to indicate Luck has struggled lately, his team is 2-1 in those 3 games, albeit against teams that are unlikely to reach the playoffs (NYJ, CLE, TEN). Luck did rush for 2 TDs against the Browns, but will need to get back on track through the air if his Colts plan to be a sleeper playoff team, something that's not entirely improbable due to Indy's easy remaining schedule (other than two games against Houston and one at New England, that is).

Wilson - Seattle Seahawks (4-4)

Since the initial rankings after Week 5, Wilson has doubled his TD passes and nearly doubled his passing yards, while only throwing 2 INTs. His Week 6 victory over the Patriots was by far his most impressive performance, as he threw for 293 yards and 3 TDs with a QB rating of 133.7. The problem with Wilson so far has been his performance on the road. The Seahawks are 3-0 at home compared to 1-4 in away games, and Wilson's shaky away starts are at least partially to blame. Wilson has thrown all of his 8 interceptions on the road and just 4 of his 10 TD passes came in games away from Seattle. His road QB rating is also 51.1 points lower than his 116.9 rating in 3 home games.
4. (3) Ryan Tannehill - Miami Dolphins (4-3)

Tannehill has only played one full game since the last rankings, due to a Week 7 bye and a knee injury sustained in last weekend's win in New York. Therefore it might be a stretch to say that Tannehill is the main reason the Dolphins are alone in 2nd in the AFC East, but he has certainly looked competent behind centre. Tannehill hasn't turned the ball over since the overtime of a Week 4 loss at Arizona, and threw multiple TDs for the first time as a pro in a Week 6 win over St. Louis. Against a good Rams' defense Tannehill threw for 185 yards, 2 TDs and a QB rating of 112.

Weeden - Cleveland Browns (2-6)

Weeden's Browns are 2-1 since the last power rankings and the QB's performance has shown vast improvements since the beginning of the year. 9 of Weeden's 10 INTs came in the Browns' first five games, all of which were losses. Since then Weeden has thrown for 624 yards and 4 TDs to go along with the lone INT. Cleveland's remaining schedule includes two games against the Steelers and next week's game at home against the Ravens, along with a Week 16 game at Denver. Other than this trio of losable games, the Browns have, at best, a decent shot at contending for a wildcard spot, and at worst compiling some late-season wins to help Weeden's confidence going into his sophomore season.
